NuCara Infusion Center is looking for a full-time medical assistant to join our growing operation! As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of our infusion services. You will support pharmacy/clinic personnel and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Expectation is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Front of clinic duties:

  • Prepare all new patient paperwork and necessary documents for patient review/signature prior to scheduled appointment
  • Organize and schedules appointments alongside follow up reminders and pre-appointment questionnaires.
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Arrange and organize laboratory services
  • Assist with patient assistance program management, prior authorization management and accounting

Back of clinic duties:

  • Obtain vital signs on patients including but not limited to height, weight, temp, blood pressure, heart rate, O2, blood glucose when applicable
  • Phlebotomy and processing of blood sample using proper supplies, devices and equipment
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments/supplies before and after patient encounters
  • Skill in placing and removing peripheral IVs preferred
  • Assist nursing and pharmacy personnel with any needs
  • Assist shipment intake, stocking and maintenance of supplies/equipment
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and devices

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant and phlebotomist
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems, software and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Degree/credentials for a medical assistant and phlebotomist

Operational hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Wages: $19.00 - $22.00 hourly

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent (Required)
  • EMR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)

Employment contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
